The sun glares at me from a nearby window.
I keep my head down
And pretend not to notice.
The howling dirge of dying foliage Slings its notes through the air
When I get home, I lock the door.

Letters to Microsoft WordYou know, I’ve always hated how you automatically correct my grammar. Sometimes I don’t want to capitalize that I but – there you go, you just did it again. Maybe I didn’t want to capitalize that sentence too but you always do it have you no appreciation? Im aware that my grammar is wrong but that’s how I want it to be sometimes, sometimes I just want that long run-on or that fragment and I don’t need to have you always reminding me that ive broken your little algorithms. He cracked a smile like an egg That sizzled in my eyes Took out a tape recorder
And promised not to lie.
I stared him down.
He looked bemused.

He laughed at me –
Said “You won’t understand!” I clenched my fist And left him buried in the sand.
| I once had a dream, where I was assaulted by hordes of shadow monsters and I was equipped with a double barreled shotgun. But what right did I have to kill them? Were they not just like me? They weren't, and so I raised my gun and tried and it wouldn't fire, firearms and superpowers never work in my dreams. They weren't even there anymore anyway, and I had an elevator to catch. I am suddenly reminded of Carl Rogers' concept of unconditional positive regard. |
